I am who I am

Imagine a world where you could be whoever you want, without the expectations of making money or fame. When you’re growing up, it’s hard to find who you are. We were all raised with the dire question: “So, what do you want to be when you grow up?”. They expect an answer that shows you have the ambition to pursue a profitable career. I want to suggest being careful with this mindset. If you are anything like me, you will keep searching for an answer only to fall short of a definitive career choice. I love everything surrounding wellness. I have always wanted many certifications and wells of knowledge in many areas of life. The ultimate goal for me is to gain wisdom. Now that may not sound so profitable because of how vague of a career, but I don’t care. We’ll be going of a couple steps to be who you are through a winning, sustainable mindset.

Lesson 1: Understand Your Peace

Understanding and creating a connection with yourself is the best place to figure out who you are. I can bet that you already have an idea of who you are.

*Note: The environment around us can influence our judgment. Reflect back to a place where you sought peace.

Personally, I believe trees are life, and they make me well. Around age 14, I bought myself a longboard because I felt I just had to get it. *This is important! No matter the size, these inclinations are your higher self giving you tools to find yourself.* So, I researched and bought myself a cheap $50 longboard from eBay (all the money I had) to start my ventures outdoors. Long story short, I experienced so much peace just by going outside to feel the sun, the wind, and the trees. I gained a fascination with flowers and nature views (mind you, I was skating in a suburban neighborhood, lol). Anytime my feelings were too overwhelming, I grabbed my beat-up longboard, screamed, “I’ll be back!”, then immediately went for a ride. I don’t come back until I am well again. In those moments of peace, I found myself, talked to myself, and reflected. Yes, I was listening to hood music, but that is my peace! Find who you are! What is your peace?

Now, if you are having trouble thinking about what actually brings you peace, we have a lot of discussions to do. I’ll make another post on that!

Lesson 2: Set Your Peace at Base Level

This lesson was tricky. If your base level is below peace, we have work to do. So, what is an unpeaceful mind? This is when your mind is restless, paranoid, pessimistic, and presentless, and are ways you can not be grounded. Through groundedness, you will have peace.

There are many ways to stay grounded that I have gathered in my years of searching for peace. As previously mentioned, nature is always a great place to start! If you are not used to nature, I recommend buying a board game, a Frisby, a hammock with a book, and books on learning how to create a fire or build a basket with pine needles. Personally, I love learning about mushrooms, herbs, plants, and how things interact, and these are all topics that are heavily researched and documented. Simply ordering a good guidebook online for any of these subjects would give me all the knowledge I need to go out and explore. Essentially, we want to have fun in nature and see the beauty in all. Experience life! Experience the life we miss out on because of how we live today. Since we live so differently compared to centuries of living, our bodies are begging to touch grass and feel the air. Hold a rock, hug a tree, and become familiar with the environment around you. In this, you will find peace of mind. Or, of course, whatever you know brings you peace. Set this at your base level.

The only expectation you should have is to be in a steady state of peace. Life does happen, and stress does come, but I need you to be aware of those deviations. When do they happen? From what cause? How does this make me feel? Here’s an emotional identification chart that everyone should utilize. Take a screenshot and favorite the photo to find it faster.

Alright, I’m not going to keep y’all for long! My goal is to launch this site on a good note. Groundwork is essential to utilizing the information I will be sharing. Holistic healing encompasses the mind, body, spirit, and everything that makes one whole. We will talk about a wide array of things for our personal growth because this is our foundation. This brings me to my final suggestion, look out for my next post, “Be the Tree” it’s all about groundwork and developing roots to start your journey full of wellness. Thank you to everyone for reading my post on peace and how it can be involved in you finding yourself, understanding yourself, and being you. I am who I am. I love you guys, and thank you!
