The moment your heart stops, everything else stops with it, or at least, that’s how it feels.
Our heart is one of the first places where we sense the disconnect between our inner and external worlds. Internally, we hold passion, drive, love, and hope, but also heartbreak, mistrust, and empathy. The heart carries so many emotions that at times, it can feel overwhelming. Externally, we navigate an environment that exists outside our consciousness. When there is a misalignment between these two spaces, our heart often signals it, making it not just a center of emotion but also a tool for alignment and healing.
One way this misalignment can manifest is in how we relate to others. In my coaching experience, I’ve worked with clients who struggle with aligning their inner and external worlds. One client, for example, found it difficult to feel love and empathy in her personal relationships. This misalignment affected how she showed up and her sense of security within herself and those she cared about. Through deep exploration, we uncovered that she had unconsciously shut out her natural generosity in sharing love. She had always been someone who fostered connection, but past traumas had left her burned too many times. Doubt, mistrust, and heartbreak caused her to close herself off, yet these very emotions revealed where she needed healing.
To help her reconnect, we engaged in a guided visualization exercise. She found herself in her room, scanning her environment, when she noticed a small heart tucked away in the corner. Feeling an urge to embrace it, she picked it up. As she held it, the heart began to pull her forward, leading her out the door. Stepping outside, she felt compelled to place the heart in the hands of another person, and she did. When she returned to her room, she discovered hearts scattered everywhere. Among them, a golden heart stood out. With warmth in her eyes, she chose to offer that heart to her partner. As we closed the session, she embraced her partner in a hug, fully allowing herself to receive and share love again.
Aligning with your heart space can shift your perspective and transform your way of being. It invites more love and warmth into your life, but only if you choose to align with it. I invite you to take a moment to reflect: What emotions or sensations are you noticing? Where? What is your heart saying? Use your heart as a tool of alignment, and you will find peace, comfort, and love flowing around you.
