Do It Anyway.

These few short words of wisdom are spoken by many, especially by me. They represent a powerful mindset that can set you on the right path in life, and this is not to be taken lightly. When you “do it anyway,” feelings of anxiety and doubt start to arise, and that’s a part of the process. You are being called into this new path of being, and when transformation starts to happen, these feelings are bound to arise. But when you lean away from this emotional turmoil and lean into action, you will begin to see life unfolding right before your eyes. Trust that there will be a breath of relief at the end of your challenge.

Listen. I am not talking about doing bad things that can derail you or others from their path. I am speaking about the power of taking a chance on yourself.

Let me tell you a quick story about how I became a Wellness Life Coach and why I did it anyway:

It started when I was still in college, stressed out and lonely. I had no clue who I was going to be in life or what direction would fulfill me. I always knew I wanted to be a woman of many trades and talents. After much thought, somehow coaching became a part of my goals. I don’t remember how I learned about coaching, but it felt like it was gently placed in my hands from above.

The problem came into play when I received a ton of discouragement from my family. I was either too young, inexperienced, or not respectable enough. Truthfully, for months, I let it get to my head. I let it derail me from what was already mine. The universe even started showing signs and nudging me to just do it anyway. The biggest sign came in the following scene:

It started with me imagining my job at the hospital having a coaching program. I planned out how I could pitch this to the manager but never actually got around to doing so. One morning, I was walking towards my cubicle, and I saw a huge pink poster broadcasting the new health coaching program, encouraging employees to sign up to be coached. It was hanging right in front of my cubicle area. When I tell you my jaw dropped. All I kept thinking was, no way. That was it. That was the moment the pin dropped, and I said, f*** it! There was no way I was going to let my dreams just pass me by. At that moment, I decided I needed to sign up for a coaching program.

This is the “Do It Anyway” attitude. Take note.

You’re probably wondering if anything came out of this experience. I am ecstatic to say, hell yes. This has been the most rewarding experience of my life. Funds weren’t an issue because I somehow got into a credible program and received a scholarship for 5/6ths of the price. Additionally, it became known that I was a natural at coaching, and I guided many individuals to a transformative place. As if that wasn’t rewarding enough, I was selected to build a health and wellness coaching certificate program for my college. But while I have other experiences I would love to share, I am curious about you guys.

What dreams did you not pursue because someone said they weren’t for you?

How many opportunities did you pass up because you were too nervous to say or do something?

How is life knowing something greater is out there and it’s just at your fingertips?

What are some stories and lessons of you doing it anyway despite all odds?

Please share with us all! I want to hear about everyone’s journey. Did you do it anyway?
